Ketam Masak Lemak |
It has been a while since my last post. I'm planning to write again, hopefully couple of posts in year 2013. Today recipe is Ketam Masak Lemak, a basically crab cooked with coconut milk and red chili. Flower/Blue Crab or Ketam Bunga in Malay is the best choice for this recipe. Flower crab's shell is soft so easy for us to enjoy.
Anyway, this is a simple recipe to try. If you love Malaysian food, you will definately like this.
Ingredients:
4 Flower crabs (cut into 2 pieces)
1 lemon grass (cut into 4-inch lengths and pounded)
2 pieces of lime leaves
1 piece of Asam Keping (follow this link for reference)
1 cup coconut milk
1 inch fresh turmeric*
6 fresh red chili (more chili for extra hot)*
5 shallots*
2 cloves of garlic*
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Blend all the asterisk* ingredients to a very fine paste.
2. Heat up some cooking oil in a work and stir-fry the paste.
3. Add lemon grass and coconut milk stir to boil.
4. Add crabs, lime leaves and Asam Keping. Reduce heat and continue to simmer until the crabs are cooked
5. Add salt to taste and serve hot.
