The plan is simple, to watch ‘World Cup’ while enjoying Malaysian food. It’s going to be an hour time different between Ireland and South Africa so most of the games will be held around evening time. I’m thinking of light snack, must be easy, simple and quick. How about ‘Pisang Goreng’ or in English language literally translated as Fried Banana?
‘Pisang Goreng’ consider as the most favourite snacks served during evening time in Malaysia due to its warm nature in serving. ‘Pisang Goreng’ can be easily found at roadside stalls or hawker centers all over Malaysia. However it’s easy and quick to be prepared.
Not all bananas are suitable for ‘Pisang Goreng’. These are few names that suitable for ‘Pisang Goreng’. They are ‘Pisang Tanduk’ (used in this recipe), ‘Pisang Raja’ (popular used for ‘Pisang Goreng’), ‘Pisang Abu’ and ‘Pisang Nipah’.

ReplyDeleteHere's another recipe I like for fried bananas:
ReplyDelete4 bananas
1 T butter or margarine
4 T sugar
1 T cinnamon or less if you like
Measure the sugar and cinnamon and place in a salt shaker and shake until well blended.
Peel bananas and cut them in half lengthwise.
Fry them in one tablespoon of butter or margarine, first on one side, then the other, until they're - hopefully - beautifully golden brown.
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve hot.
They look interesting
