Lemon Chicken Recipe

As my series of cooking continue, here I present my latest dish ‘The Lemon Chicken’. I had my first Lemon Chicken when I was working with Selangor Industrial Corporation in Shah Alam. Just a few blocks away from our office building there is a restaurant called ‘Pan Mour’ that serves a very tasty Lemon Chicken dish.

Lemon Chicken was previously served in Chinese restaurants however can be easily found in any modern restaurant in Malaysia as it now is getting popular among Malaysian.

So again, here I present the recipe for Lemon Chicken.

INGREDIENTS:

Chicken;
1 slice of chicken breast
1 egg
1 teaspoon of corn flour
1/3 of fresh lemon (squeezed)
½ teaspoon of white pepper
5 drops of sesame oil
4 tablespoons of plain flour.
3 tablespoons of dried breadcrumbs.
Salt to taste

Lemon sauce;
2/3 of fresh lemon (squeezed)
1 tablespoon of honey
1 cup of water
2 teaspoon of corn flour
2 tablespoon of sugar
1cm ginger (finely chopped)
½ cube of chicken stock
Salt to taste

HOW TO:

Lemon Sauce;
Mix all the ingredients. Stir the mixture over low heat until it boiled and thicken.

Chicken;
Mix egg, corn flour, pepper, sesame oil, lemon juice and salt. Then marinate chicken breast with the mixture and put aside for about half an hour (the longer the better). Mix plain flour with breadcrumbs and add marinated chicken breast. Heat up oil and when it’s ready, deep fried the chicken until its turn into golden brown.

Finally, sliced the fried chicken breast and served with the lemon sauce.
